April Morgan-October Community Member Highlight!
Congratulations to April Morgan for being selected as our October Community Member Highlight!
“I started Force in August 2013, my sister Martha had joined 2 weeks prior, and raved about how awesome the workouts and trainer Matt was.
My goal in the beginning was to lose weight. I have struggled with my weight since middle school. I tried multiple weight loss supplements with little or no results. In 2004, I had Gastric Bypass. I tipped the scale at 318#. I had high blood pressure and increased heart rate at the age of 24.
The surgery was a tool to lose the weight, but it is my responsibility to keep it off. I lost 168# after my surgery, and my BP and HR were normal. When I became pregnant with my son Alex in 2006, I gained 66# during my pregnancy, and struggled to lose it after his birth. I tried walking, jazzercise, and zumba, and I just couldn’t lose all the weight.
In 2010, my gallbladder was diseased and had to be removed. I was so sick I lost the rest of my baby weight. I kept it off for 2 years, however it slowly but surely crept back up to 218#. I started going to a local gym there I worked on the elliptical and changed my eating habits, and lost 18#. I was proud of my accomplishments, but wanted more. I wanted to be strong and fit!
Force has helped me reach my weight loss goal. I have lost an additional 18#. I am fit and strong!!! I can’t imagine life without FORCE. I have met some awesome lifelong friends at Force.
I have accomplished goals I never thought were possible. I have always wanted to be a runner. I did my first ever 5K walk in October 2013, and I just finished running my 1st mini marathon on September 27th!! My training partner Sarah Winstead has been a huge part in helping me reach my running goals.
My husband and high school sweet heart Robby has always been fit, and a runner. He has always loved me, and has stuck by my side no matter what my weight was. I’ve always wanted to be able to run with him, and working out at force has helped me reach this goal. My husband has been in shock, at how much stronger and confident I am. We make sure that we have family hiking, biking and running outings. We want to teach our son Alex how important it is to be healthy and fit.
I love the members and the environment at Force. Everyone is helpful, and encouraging. I am a team player and love group workouts. It is motivational to see others reaching their goals, and watching their transformations.
I am much happier, and feel so much better about myself since joining Force. I feel like I am a better wife and mother. I love and enjoy fitness. I think I may be addicted to fitness, not a bad addiction.
My current goal is to have another baby. I know this time I will not gain 66#. I will take what I have learned, and continue to learn at Force to make sure of this.
Thank you to all who have helped and supported me in my journey.”
