Make Yourself Accountable
Having someone to hold you accountable is one of the biggest things you can do for success in anything. We naturally don’t want to disappoint anyone. The feeling of letting someone down is a huge motivator most, especially if you are naturally competitive like me!
There are a lot of ways to make this happen. That is why a lot of people hire a personal trainer. It is nice to know that someone is expecting you to be at your workout and is there to push you. That is also a reason that Weight Watchers has some success. The natural support of the group is great. You can create your own groups, hire someone to do it, or just keep a journal. There is a solution for everyone.
As of lately we have had trouble ensuring that we keep in contact with each of our members and readers regarding their progress. I need to be a better coach and hold you all accountable.
Well, one sure fire way to make sure that I do something is to just put it out there and tell everyone that we are going to start! So I am going to take a huge step and make the commitment to you guys to help hold you accountable, but I am going to ask a little something of you in return.
I want you guys to post your goals and do weekly check ins on Friday in the new FORUM. This takes about 5 minutes to do each week but it will make sure you are making progress. All you have to do is register for the forum (try to use your real name or at least real first name so we know who it is), post your goal, and then each week give us an update on what you did to achieve your goal, your progress, and what you are going to do the next week to continue your progress.
Here is an example from me:
Goal: To lose 15 lbs over the next 6 weeks
This week was good for me. I was able to make it to the gym two days and I did one workout at home on my own. I have been foam rolling every day I notice a difference in how I am able to stand up from the floor now. It doesn’t hurt! My eating wasn’t very good because of lunch meetings, but I will do better this week.
This week I am going to make sure that I get in at least 4 workouts (2 strength and 2 conditioning/intervals) as well as eat according to my meal plan 90% of the time.
I will make my grocery list and prepare my foods on Sunday.
I will not eat out for lunch.
I am going to choose healthy snacks at night instead of the usual candy.
Goal for next week: Lose 3lbs.
It isn’t tough and it is essentially just a review of what you have been doing.
We have been doing this with our Elite Mastermind Group along with some of the other world class fitness business owners across the country and it has helped immensely. It doesn’t take long and it is a sure fire way to keep you motivated and also be held accountable.
Now, with anything we can give you all of the resources in the world, but if you aren’t ready to make the changes or willing to get out of your comfort zone you will never see the results you want.
I will be placing more information on nutrition up on the resources section of our website very soon so that you have everything you need to get great results.
Head over to the FORUM right now and start your check in! Each and every Friday you should check in with latest progress and let us know how we can help.
